Maty Konte

Maty Konte is an Economist at the United Nations University in the Netherlands, and an affiliate faculty at the African School of Economics in Cotonou, Benin. She is currently a team member of the INCLUDE, the Dutch knowledge plateform on inclusive development policies. She also acts as a Vice President for the NGO Women and Nature International in New York. She has worked with a range of international organisations and African think tanks in Senegal, Kenya and South Africa. She also served as an expert advisor for the Conversation, an independent and non-profit media outlet which reached a monthly audience of 10.7 million users onsite as of May 2018. Maty Konte holds PhD and Master degrees in Economics from France, an executive certificate from Harvard and a certificate on project management from Georgetown university. She is interested in policy-relevant research on economic development, growth and institutions, and women’s empowerment.
