Gender Issues

Noah is African ecofeminist and transman with considerable knowledge on human rights, gender and sexuality. He is a co-founder and director at The Taala Foundation, a nonprofit enterprise working to promote wellness for youth on the margins through mental health, education, and healing through justice. He uses his knowledge of the law to push for equality and greater protections for all people, especially the most vulnerable and excluded members of our society. Noah considers himself a story-teller: he has been a contributor on different visual and audio media projects exploring the lived realities of sexual and gender minorities in Uganda. When he is not at work, he likes to spend time outdoors connecting with nature and searching for the universal knowledge hidden in our midst through books, films, and oral narratives. He is an enduring fan of women’s sports in Uganda especially rugby and basketball and roots for the JKL LadyDolphins Basketball Club. He is based in Mukono, Uganda.

Noah is an alumni at Makerere University and Harvard University.
