Racha Haffar is a feminist award-winning women rights activist. She was named among top 5 inspiring female entrepreneurs in the Arab World. She is the Founder & President of ‘Not 4 Trade,’ the first anti-human trafficking NGO in Tunisia. She is also a Fulbright Alumna at the University of Kentucky, a journalist and a university professor of public speaking and professional communication. She received her double masters’ degrees in International Relations and International Development and Cooperation from the Universities of Tunis and Palermo.

Racha is an internationally certified trainer on Human Trafficking. She is extremely passionate about fighting human trafficking and modern day slavery. She was honored three times, and received the Women’s Rights Award from the United Nations Association, the Leadership Award from the University of Kentucky, and an award from Thomson Reuters Foundation. She published her research on “The Developments of Trafficking in Women in Post-Revolution Tunisia” on Slavery Today Journal.

Racha delivered a speech at Oxford University. She sat on panels and spoke at different conferences including the SAFE conference on human trafficking, the 13th Annual Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference, and she spoke at UN-Africa Youth Conference in Kenya. Racha has a consultative role with the UN Women Gender Innovation Agora. She also gave a TEDx talk on the importance of facing fears under the title, “The Art of Befriending your Fears.”

Recently, Racha met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in an exchange for young leaders working on peacebuilding in their post-conflict zones with the United States Institute of Peace. She is also a Global Freedom Fellow and a part of a global network of more than 100 women leaders fighting against human trafficking. She met with Barack Obama when she was selected as one of the Obama Leaders Fellows.
