Initial Think-Meeting | Gender and Trade Coalition

Feminist activists, trade union and NGO leaders, and academics gathered for an initial think-meeting to rekindle analysis and advocacy at the intersection of gender and trade to meet contemporary challenges. After surveying the current landscape in the context of past struggles to identify critical needs and organizing strategies, participants agreed to form the Gender and Trade Coalition: A Feminist Alliance on Trade Justice. The meeting was co-convened by Regions Refocus and the South Centre, with support from Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung New York. The coalition will build capacity for advocacy and research at the intersection of gender and trade, from a feminist and progressive lens.
