The study aims to provide an understanding of the extent of intimate heterosexual partner violence against rural women and girls, considering the political economy situation in wartime violence; linking structural inequalities as well as political-economic processes from household to transnational levels within Liberia. The specific objective of this study is to describe ways in which intimate partner violence affects rural women’s and girl’s contributions to the local economy and shapes economic processes that continue to make women and girls more vulnerable to violence.
