Social Protection Responses in SADC: A Review of Current and Future Cash Transfer Programmes

The Studies in Poverty and Inequality Institute (SPII) hosted a roundtable webinar that considered social cash transfers as a critical policy tool that could operate on three fronts: to meet people’s immediate humanitarian needs, to provide an individual and house-hold based economic recovery stimulus at a national level and to build a protective safety net to protect against future shocks to national and regional wellbeing.
