Transparency in the mining sector and its impacts on the sustainability of African mineral resources

This panel explores the issue of transparency or lack of in promoting or hindering the sustainable development of mineral resources in Africa.
Transparency in the mining sector is associated with the need to address general good governance when dealing with financial transactions
as well as in the relationship between the environment and the local population.
Thus transparency is an important element in developing strategies and policies for sustainable economic development.
In this session, our panelists will lead us in exploring the nexus between transparency in relation to the various spheres they work in,
in the mining sector, in relation to the sustainable development of mineral resources in Africa.
