“As part of a webinar series, “”East And Southern Africa CSO Energy Transition Joint Capacity-Building and Road To COP27,”” Natural Resource Governance Institute
845 subscribers (NRGI) hosted a session on 8 April 2022 to discuss the link between climate change and energy transition,
focusing on the oil, coal and gas sectors.
Based on available research, this session highlighted recent shifts, emerging paradigms and risks
and opportunities that exist and how the fossil fuel sector may change or be affected,
as well as key considerations that governments and citizens should make to achieve sustainable development.
The potential risks and uncertainties that current and future oil producers might face,
and whether investing in national oil companies could be a risky bet.”
