Microfinance, Entrepreneurship and Rural Development: Empirical Evidence from Makueni District, Kenya

Although microfinance has elicited different reactions from different stakeholders, there seem to be a general agreement that it is useful in reducing poverty. However the context in which microfinance is of help to rural poor households is not well researched. This study is an attempt to contribute in to the debate on what works and what does not work for microfinance and poverty reduction.
